Our client is a full-service, results-based BC law firm, centrally located in the Greater Vancouver area and well situated to meet the needs of a diverse range of businesses, individuals, and institutional clients. They are conveniently located in the Central City Tower accessible by sky train in downtown Surrey, one of the fastest growing business communities.

They are currently seeking a full-time Commercial Litigation & Personal Injury Legal Administrative Assistant with a minimum of 2 years of experience to join our firm.

About the role:

Duties include

  • Opening, organizing, and closing files
  • Performing corporate searches and due diligence searches
  • Obtaining pertinent information, drafting memorandums, and updating records as required
  • Drafting and sending correspondence to clients, solicitors, and other companies and organizations
  • Filing and updating file binders
  • Managing intake of documents and file related materials and updating binders
  • Maintaining electronic calendars and scheduling client meetings, Examinations for Discovery, Trials, and other Chambers Hearings
  • Meeting with clients for client intake, review of agreements and document packages and witnessing signatures to same 
  • Maintaining a BF and limitation system
  • Frequent communication with clients and solicitors
  • Other administrative tasks as needed

About you:

  • A Legal Administrative Assistant Certificate from an accredited post-secondary institution
  • Minimum of 2 years of working experience as an LAA
  • Working knowledge of BC Online and myLTSA
  • Proficient with MS Word and Outlook
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to exercise good judgement, professionalism, and to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to handle a high volume of work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
