Our client is a full-service, results-based BC law firm, centrally located in the Greater Vancouver area and well situated to meet the needs of a diverse range of businesses, individuals, and institutional clients. They are conveniently located in the Central City Tower accessible by sky train in downtown Surrey, one of the fastest growing business communities.

They are currently seeking a full-time Land Development Paralegal with a minimum of 3 years of experience to join the firm.

About the role:

Duties include:

  • Preparation of documents in relation to Land Development transactions
  • Conducting Land Title and BC Online searches (title searches, BC assessments, company searches, etc.) and due diligence
  • Administering clients’ files including file opening (conflict searches, client identifications and other tasks), and file closing
  • Managing subdivision and Land Title Office filings
  • Drafting and sending correspondence to clients, purchasers, solicitors, and financial institutions with respect to land development, including municipal covenants, rights of way and easements
  • Managing commercial real estate property transactions under the supervision of a commercial real estate lawyer
  • Scanning documents, filing, billing
  • Liaising with legal assistants, paralegals, and lawyers on file progress
  • Experience with commercial lending transactions an asset

About you:

  • Minimum of 3 years of working experience as a paralegal
  • Working knowledge of BC Online and myLTSA
  • Knowledge of Real Estate Practice Guidelines, Land Titles Act, and other procedures, statutes, rules, and regulations applicable to real property law
  • Basic familiarity in conveyancing is an asset
  • Proficient with MS Word and Outlook
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to exercise good judgement, professionalism, and to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to handle a high volume of work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
