Litigation Paralegal (Remote)

Our client is seeking a full-time remote Senior Litigation Paralegal to join their legal team and support complex litigation matters with a focus on Indigenous legal issues. The successful candidate will play a key role in assisting lawyers with the preparation and management of litigation files, legal research and document production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive paralegal support throughout all stages of complex litigation matters.
  • Prepare and manage litigation documents, including pleadings, affidavits, applications, briefs, trial records, exhibits, and Court materials.
  • Manage litigation files, including document production, discovery processes, Court deadlines, filings, and procedural requirements.
  • Prepare document lists, indexes, review, organization, tracking, production, redaction, and version control of documents.
  • Coordinate with lawyers, historians, clients, experts, and other stakeholders to meet litigation requirements and deadlines.

 Qualifications and Experience

  • Paralegal certificate, or equivalent relevant experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience supporting Indigenous Law litigation matters
  • Experience supporting complex litigation matters, including high-volume document review and production.
  • Knowledge of litigation processes and legal documentation requirements, with familiarity with Federal Court procedures considered an asset, though not required.
  • Proficiency with e-discovery platforms, document management database, and legal research tools.
  • Advanced Adobe Acrobat Pro skills, including redaction, compilation, and document preparation.
  • Strong Word, Excel, experience document tracking tools.
  • Attention to detail, with strong organizational, analytical, and file management skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, meet strict litigation deadlines, and work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of professionalism and discretion.
  • Experience retaining, instructing, and liaising with expert witnesses, court reporting services, litigation support vendors, and legal technology providers is considered an asset but is not required.

 

Salary

  • $75,000 to $105,000 depending on experience
