Legal Administrative Assistant (remote)

Description:
Our law firm client is currently seeking a full-time Legal Administrative Assistant to join their Litigation Department. This is a remote position. While litigation experience is preferred, they are also open to candidates who are interested in developing their skills and building a career in litigation support.
Their firm specializes in Indigenous law, with additional practices in Real Estate, Corporate, and Litigation. As a result, candidates with a diverse legal background and exposure to multiple practice areas would be a strong asset to their team.
Key Qualifications:
- 1–4 years of experience as a Legal Administrative Assistant
- Knowledge of BC litigation processes, court procedures, filing, and service requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook
- Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise sound judgment, and demonstrate professionalism
- Comfortable managing a high-volume workload in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a team environment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Responding to general inquiries by phone and email
- Managing incoming and outgoing mail, couriers, and other correspondence
- Opening, organizing, maintaining, and closing client files
- Conducting conflict searches
- Drafting and sending correspondence
- Managing the intake and organization of documents and updating file materials
- Preparing litigation documents and pleadings, including application records and Briefs of Authorities
- Scheduling client meetings, and maintaining electronic calendars
- Maintaining bring-forward and limitation systems
- Communicating regularly with clients, opposing counsel
- Assisting with client billing and expense recording
- Providing additional administrative support as required
The salary range for this position is $48,000–$65,000, depending on the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
