Description:
Our downtown Vancouver law firm client is looking for a full-time Director of HR and Operations to join their firm. The ideal candidate has experience working in HR in a law firm.
Responsibilities:
- recruiting, on-boarding, teaming, training
- retention, career development, reviews, discipline, counselling and promotions
- resource allocation for all levels of lawyers and staff
- management of reception and office services
- setting policies and procedures on work related functions
- work flow design and implementation
- monitoring work levels and evaluation of staffing levels / requirements
- policies and procedures to support a well-structured organization
- oversee the organization of social activities, various firm and client events
- liaise with the LAAs and paralegals to define challenges and create solutions
- assist in Student development (includes student recruitment and practice requirements)
- assist in Associate development (reviews, mentor meetings, practice meetings and Blog)
- attendance at management committee/partners/staff meetings as required
- prepare partnership level reports not covered by the Controller (associate salary and review reports, staff review reports, billing rate reports)
- participation on various committees as required.
