*Director of HR and Operations

Description:

Our downtown Vancouver law firm client is looking for a full-time Director of HR and Operations to join their firm. The ideal candidate has experience working in HR in a law firm.

 

Responsibilities:
  • recruiting, on-boarding, teaming, training
  • retention, career development, reviews, discipline, counselling and  promotions  
  • resource allocation for all levels of lawyers and staff
  • management of reception and office services
  • setting policies and procedures on work related functions
  • work flow design and implementation
  • monitoring work levels and evaluation of staffing levels / requirements
  • policies and procedures to support a well-structured organization
  • oversee the organization of social activities, various firm and client events
  • liaise with the LAAs and paralegals to define challenges and create solutions        
  • assist in Student development (includes student recruitment and practice requirements)    
  • assist in Associate development (reviews, mentor meetings, practice meetings and Blog)
  • attendance at management committee/partners/staff meetings as required
  • prepare partnership level reports not covered by the Controller (associate salary and review reports, staff review reports, billing rate reports)
  • participation on various committees as required.
