Family Law Paralegal

Our downtown Vancouver client is looking for a full-time in-office Family Law Paralegal. The boutique firm practice is exclusively in family law and manages complex files that intersect with business, tax, trusts, commercial, and related legal areas. The team works on fast-moving litigation matters and values precision, professionalism and accountability. The work can be challenging, but it offers excellent opportunities to build your skills and take on meaningful responsibilities within a supportive, in-person team environment.


Your Role:

  • Draft routine and substantive legal documents such as Notice of Family Claim, Response to Family Claim, Counterclaim, Financial Statements, Affidavits, Notices of Application, Application Responses, Lists of Documents and Agreements

  • Prepare Application Records and Briefs of Authorities 

  • Schedule JCCs, Chambers hearings, trials, discoveries and mediations

  • Manage files, maintain the bring-forward system, and support counsel calendars

  • Manage incoming correspondence and communications

  • Communicate with clients, counsel, and third parties

  • E-file documents via Court Services Online 

  • Conduct LTSA searches

  • Support billing and time entry using LEAP

  • Other general administrative and secretarial support services as required

About You:

  • 3+ years of litigation experience (family law preferred)

  • Strong understanding of the Supreme Court Family Rules, Family Law Act, Divorce Act, and court procedures, including filing requirements and deadlines

  • Excellent organization, accuracy, and follow‑through

  • Clear, professional communication skills

  • Ability to work proactively in a fast‑paced environment

  • Completion of a paralegal program (preferred)
