Junior-Intermediate Corporate Paralegal

Description:
Our client is a leading boutique entertainment law firm based in downtown Vancouver. They primarily serve corporate clients in the film and television industry across Western Canada. Their firm is well known in the local screen sector for our expertise, integrity, and professionalism.
They are currently looking for a junior to intermediate Corporate Paralegal to join their team, and work with fantastic people in a casual, friendly work environment. This a full-time position with working hours from 8am to 4pm at their downtown Vancouver office.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Perform routine corporate maintenance, and bespoke corporate actions, including:
- Incorporations and dissolutions of BC companies
- Updating company minute books, including director, officer, and shareholder records
- Preparing, drafting, and administering Annual Report documents, extra-provincial registrations, company name changes, amalgamations, etc.
- Scanning and digitizing minute books
- Corresponding with clients on their corporate needs
- Copyright registrations with the Canadian Intellectual Property Office and the US Copyright Office
- Daily office administrative tasks, including handling routine phone calls, processing incoming and outgoing mail, perform in-person bank deposits, paper filing and photocopying, etc.
- Working with client management software, including for opening & closing files, time entry, bill preparation, and processing bill payments
- Liaise with lawyers on client matters, including maintaining an electronic and manual bring forward system, and email correspondence with clients
Qualifications:
- Graduate of a paralegal program (certificate or degree) from a recognized post-secondary institution or equivalent experience
- A minimum of 1 year of experience as a paralegal in corporate legal services
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word and Excel
- Experience with Soluno, Appara, and DocuSign will be an asset
- Demonstrates conscientiousness, resourcefulness and the strong ability to take initiative and self-learn
- Strong interpersonal skills, including excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, meticulous file and record management and the ability to multi-task efficiently
- Ability to work alone and with others
- Possesses good judgement and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
- Enjoys a challenge and expanding their knowledge base
Compensation:
Their compensation packages are highly competitive, which include vacation entitlement, health and dental benefits.
Salary: 55-65k dependent on experience
