Legal Administrative Assistant - Commercial Litigation

Description:

Our law firm client is a boutique litigation firm located in downtown Vancouver. They provide legal advice and advocacy across a broad range of matters with particular expertise in business disputes. They value collegiality, diversity, inclusion, and a respectful work environment.

Recent growth brings with it a need to add an experienced legal administrative assistant to their team.

The successful candidate will have 3-5+ years of relevant experience, exceptional attention to detail, advanced writing capabilities, strong interpersonal skills, unfailing respect for the importance of confidentiality and excellent judgment.

The position entails (but is not restricted to):

  • Assisting in the management of a litigation practice, including scheduling, diarizing, time keeping and billing functions.
  • Liaising with clients, other law firms and outside service providers.
  • Opening and closing files and general file maintenance.
  • Assisting in the performance of conflict searches.
  • Creating routine documents, including supplying draft content, careful proofreading and formatting.
  • Word processing using Microsoft Word.  Although not required, a familiarity with Soluno and NetDocs, or similar programs, is an asset.
  • Coordinating large scan, print, copy, document organization and binding jobs, including preparing application records and books of authorities.
  • Preparing monthly accounts.
  • Monitoring accounts receivable and assisting with the collection of overdue accounts.
  • Tracking expenses and preparing cheque requests.
  • Providing support and vacation coverage to other legal assistants in the office.
  • Other duties as required.

Job Type: Full-time, in office with the ability to work from home one day a week, if desired.

Pay: $50,000.00-$75,000.00 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
